Volumetrics for Weight Control
Filed in archive Weight on May 10, 2007
VolunteerTV.com reported the results of a recent study by Consumer Reports on weight loss plans. Most of the names were familiar:
jenny Craig and Slim Fast rank 3 and 4 respectively, because some say they are hard to stick to long term.
Weight Watchers comes in at number two, mainly because the level of emotional support participants receive.
The Volu-Metrics eating plan came in at number one. Essentially people eat a lot of low calorie food to take the edge off their appetites.
I was surprised by the number one choice. With all the diets I've tried and reviewed, I'd never heard of Volumetrics. What is Volumetrics? According to Web MD:
Volumetrics is based on a basic fact: people like to eat. And if people are given the choice between eating more and eating less, they'll take more almost every time.
Sounds interesting! I've ordered a copy of the book. Expect more about it later, when I write a review.
