Vitamin D
I'm a great believer in taking vitamins. As well as any prescription drugs the doctor may have me on, I always take a multi-vitamin and mineral pill, a vitamin B complex pill and calcium supplements every day. A post in BrainTalk Communities brought this topic to my attention although I'm not sure if Nick the writer, believes in the story or not.

The article, entitled Vitamin D Backed For Cancer Prevention In Two New Studies originally appeared in Science Daily tells us that:

Two new vitamin D studies using a sophisticated form of analysis called meta-analysislinks, in which data from multiple reports is combined, have revealed new prescriptions for possibly preventing up to half of the cases of breast cancer and two-thirds of the cases of colorectal cancer in the United States. The work was conducted by a core team of cancer prevention specialists at the Moores Cancer Center at University of California, San Diego (UCSD), and colleagues from both coasts.

You can get Vitamin D from different sources, including sunlight, diet and supplements. Further research is needed to find out the effect of the different sources.
