The Truth About Birth Control Pills
You hear a lot of stories about using Birth Control Pillslinks, and there's controversy. So much, in fact, that women don't know what they should believe.

I found an excellent article this morning, by Dawn Stacey, About.com Contraception Guide, dispelling or explaining many of these myths. For instance, one of the most common beliefs is that the pill causes weight gain. Among the reasons this might seem to be true, Dawn gives us this one:
Studies have shown that women often begin using the pill during a time of life that happens to coincide with weight changes, giving the pill an unfair reputation for causing weight gain.


CoolNurse has more on myths about birth control pills and myths about pregnancy. About the pills, she says:
We can't tell you all the myths about birth control because there are new ones being invented all the time. If you don't want to get pregnant or get someone pregnant, be suspicious of any method that isn't a medically proven effective one.
