Public Breast Feeding
Would you breast feed your baby in public? Or, like so many women, do you use a bottle for trips to the Mall, etc? The British government is considering passing legislation that would make it legal for mothers to breast feed in public and even at their place of employment. According to ArcaMax Publishing:
The Times of London said Sunday that ministers began contemplating giving mothers such rights after the release of a World Health Organization report showing that only 21 percent of British mothers breastfeed their children for the full six months recommended by the health group.

InFact Canada states:
We believe that women have the right to breastfeed whenever and wherever they want. Communities need to be sensitized to the ways in which they can actively support breastfeeding.

In the United States, Ask Lenore tells us:
From a legal perspective, you have a right to breastfeed your baby in public anywhere in the United States. Some states have gone so far as to implement specific legislation to that effect to protect the rights of both babies and their mothers; these states have set out legal consequences for violations, too.
