Osteoporosis and Exercise
I try to watch my diet and eat the right foods, but I detest exercise. I know it's wrong to feel that way, but I do. I don't mind a daily short walk, but when it comes to a gym or even a treadmill in the basement (I have one. It's gathering dust.) I have to force myself to get at it.

I do have osteoporosislinks, and exercise is prescribed to strengthen the bones. Medical News Today says:
Bone-loading exercise and a balanced diet are essential for preventing osteoporosis. To take care of your bones now so they stay strong enough to carry you through a lifetime of health and activity.

The Lantern Books Blog agrees:
To build muscle, you have to put stress on it. If you gradually put more stress on a muscle than it is accustomed to handling, it responds by adding more muscle. As more weight is added, the muscle gets bigger. The same is true of bone. Bone is much like muscle in that it only gets as strong (dense) as the demands placed on it.

Guess it's time to grab that duster and start building up my bones.
