New Abortion Ruling

For instance, we have a young woman with two or three little ones who need her care. This pregnancy could endanger her life, and the well-being of those who need her. In that case, then, I would consider an abortion a viable option.
Until recently, doctors could make that decision and suggest an abortion. However, a new ruling by the United States Supreme Court to ban certain types of late-term abortions appears to have taken that decision out of their hands and doctors are concerned.
A news item from ABC Action News reports:
This ruling makes it illegal for a doctor to perform a medical procedurecalled intact dilation and extraction, commonly known as a 'partial-birth' abortion.
Many physicians who provide obstetric and gynecologic services to women are concerned that the ruling will have a negative impact on women's health by taking some medical decisions out of doctors' hands.
I Googled this new abortion ruling, and it seems to have strayed from the medical field into the fertile grounds of politics. Pro-life. Pro-choice. Let's keep the issue where it belongs, squarely on the mother and her health.
