Menopause and Your Sex Life
Some women believe that menopause signals the end of female sexuality. Belief Net Health tells us this isn't necessarily so:
The reality is that the need for and capacity to have satisfying sexual relationships does not disappear as a natural or irreversible part of aging in women or men. According to Paula Doress-Worters, co-author of The New Ourselves, Growing Older and The New Our Bodies, Ourselves, "there is no reason to think that women in midlife should necessarily have problems with sexuality."

Dr. Linda Page, on Healthy Healing, explains why female libido lags after menopause:
Even a minute imbalance in hormones can contribute to low libido or vaginal dryness, the two main sexual problems women face today. Vaginal dryness caused by dropping estrogen levels makes sex uncomfortable and painful, and also raises the risk of certain infections.

However, Dr. Page, after suggesting several remedies, goes on to assure us:
Your sexuality doesn't have to end just because you're in menopause. Sexuality in the second half of life can be better than ever!
