Health Problems Caused by Insomnia

Having trouble falling asleep? Do you wake up in the middle of the night and find you can't get back to sleep? Warning! This may just be the start of your problems.
According to an article I found on SAWF News Connect:

The study found significant relations between the longitudinal course of chronic insomnia and the development of anxiety disorders and depression. Compared to the group of participants without chronic insomnia in both surveys, the group with chronic insomnia had increased associations to having developed anxiety disorders and depression.

According to the Science Blog:

Focusing on chronic insomnia as a symptom of both anxiety and depression may facilitate the early detection of a mental disorder, as well as the detection of comorbidity, said Nechelmann, who added that, though not demonstrated, alleviating chronic insomnia may reduce the risk of developing anxiety disorders.

If you suffer from anxiety and stress it will almost definitely affect your sleep and cause insomnia. Try taking Stjohn’s wort a natural herbal remedy or try drinking chamomile tea in the evening. The important issue is to deal with your anxieties and seek professional help if you require it. I am a Clinical Hypnotherapist based in Ireland and I find that many disorders (including insomnia) are either caused by stress and anxiety, or are made worse by stress and anxiety. Through hypnosis, it’s possible to let go of old, outdated anxieties that you still carry around with you today. It can also allow you to have a new perspective on daily worries and stresses, allowing you to feel much more relaxed.
Remember, through the centuries, the human being has always made time for relaxation. Sleep temples were all the vogue as far back as 5,000 years ago. In our modern age, we seem to think that we can go at 100 miles an hour all day every day, and of course, this is just not true. We all need to learn to prioritise time for relaxation in our daily lives.
