Green Tea Against Breast Cancer
Filed in archive Breast Cancer on January 29, 2009
Green tea has been reported to have many benefits such as its potential to promote weight loss and protect against Alzheimer's disease.
Now, a new study from the U.S. and China found that regular green tea drinkers can reduce a woman's risk of breast cancer by 12 percent.
Writing in the Journal of Nutrition, scientists report that the "modest" reduction was observed for regular tea drinkers, compared to non-drinkers, after evaluating the diet of 3454 women with breast cancer and 3474 healthy controls aged between 20 and 74.
The study, led by Martha Shrubsole from Vanderbilt School of Medicine in Nashville, adds to the ever-growing body of science supporting the anti-cancer benefits of green tea and its polyphenols.
I know green isn't as popular like the usual red tea among many people, due mainly to green tea's not-too-good taste. However, if you give green tea a chance, its taste will grow on you. Just think of its many health benefits, it may help you pick up that cup of green tea.
