Fad Diets
The Skinny Website tells us that lots of celebrities try fad diets. That's to be expected, I guess. There figures are just as important to them, and probably more so, than that of the general population. For instance, the Skinny Web tells us that:

Victoria Beckham has been known to eat only pineapple and sushi.

AND
Sophie Dahl was on the Green Tea diet.

Do these fad diets work? Yes, for a while. But, let's face it. Who can eat nothing but Family Doctor.org says:
A fad diet is a weight loss plan or aid that promises dramatic results. These diets don't offer long-term success, and they are usually not very healthy. Some of them can actually be dangerous to your health.

The American Heart Association warns:
Quick-weight-loss diets usually overemphasize one particular food or type of food. They violate the first principle of good nutrition: Eat a balanced diet that includes a variety of foods. If you are able to stay on such a diet for more than a few weeks, you may develop nutritional deficiencies, because no one type of food has all the nutrients you need for good health.

So how can we lose weight? Eat a balanced diet that contains all the food groups. Cut down on portion sizes and get some exercise, every day if possilble. You didn't put that weight on in a week or a month, so don't expect to take it off in a short time.
