Celebrity Moms Are Opting For Elective C-Section Births
Filed in archive Lifestyles , Pregnancy on April 19, 2010
When I gave birth almost 8 years ago, I had an emergency c-section. Suffice to say, the procedure was medically necessary.
Elective c-section, on the other hand, is when a mother opts for c-section right away, without even trying to give birth naturally first. It looks like that elective c-section is the in thing with celebrity moms these days.
The media has dubbed the movement "too posh to push," after Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz's Spice Girl mama. The British beauty, like some of the other celeb mamas in question, claimed that her C-section were under doctors' orders.
But you can't help but think that maybe they are all just trying to avoid abdominal (and vaginal?) stretching and the pains of natural child birth.

I think this is bad trend. It's sad to think the birth of a child is dictated by convenience! Still, there's NOTHING NATURAL about Hollywood--why should this be any different?

Hmmm...why would anyone want to have major stomach surgery over vaginal birth I do not know! Especially when epidurals are so common these days. Wonder if this is just more media hype?

I know that I've survived two c-sections. One was an emergency c-section. The second was planned but recommended because of my history of preeclampsia. I can understand why a woman would want one...so I won't condemn anyone for doing it. The thought of the pain of childbirth is a really scary thing. But on the other hand...why risk something catastrophic happening during a surgery that isn't needed. To each his own I guess.

If celebs follow the trenditis most natural that people too follow the trend. Besides I do not find any harm in adopting such technique of elective c- section as it involves less pain and stuff.
