Aloe Vera and Ulcerative Colitis
Wikipedia says of aloe vera:
A. vera has been used externally to treat various skin conditions such as cuts, burns and eczema. It is alleged that sap from Aloe vera eases pain and reduces inflammation.

Aloe vera, according to those in the know about herbal remedies, is good for healing a great many things, both external and internal. The Nutrition Naturally Blog extols the use of aloe vera in the treatment of ulcerative colitis:
The beneficial health property of aloe vera gel, especially the anti-inflammatory and soothing effects, makes it a good ulcerative colitis treatment when taken internally.

Clinical trials with people suffering from ulcerative colitis, who took aloe vera supplements, showed a 47% improvement in their symptoms.

Aloe vera has a growing group of avid fans. In fact, it even has its very own blog, and the information there agrees with that from the Nutrition Naturally Blog. The Aloe Vera Blog has this to say:

My sister had suffered from IBS for years before trying an Aloe Vera nutritional supplement to help with her digestive health and seems to have benefited from it.

Where would you find aloe vera? Health Food and herbal stores usually carry the gel and supplements. Or, you can grow your won. The Garden Helper tells you how.
