Aloe Vera and Ulcerative Colitis

Wikipedia says of aloe vera:
A. vera has been used externally to treat various skin conditions such as cuts, burns and eczema. It is alleged that sap from Aloe vera eases pain and reduces inflammation.
Aloe vera, according to those in the know about herbal remedies, is good for healing a great many things, both external and internal. The Nutrition Naturally Blog extols the use of aloe vera in the treatment of ulcerative colitis:

Clinical trials with people suffering from ulcerative colitis, who took aloe vera supplements, showed a 47% improvement in their symptoms.
Aloe vera has a growing group of avid fans. In fact, it even has its very own blog, and the information there agrees with that from the Nutrition Naturally Blog. The Aloe Vera Blog has this to say:

I am glad to see the results are well seen with aloe vera. i have seen some products at my local heath store with aloe vera and was just wondering if this was as effective as using the gel from the plant.

Aloe vera is a product for every type of skin . it is a natural food flavoring and gives the result in few weeks. There is no side effects on any type skin aloe vera is a very highly effective in treating like pimples.i was used since last six months and give the results . so i am very happy to use this products. As you rightly say, drinking aloe vera can be great for ulcerative colitis because of it’s anti-inflammatory properties. But as aloe is an immunomodulator, it is very beneficial with other disorders of the immune system too.

Ulcerative Colitis is a universal disease. And, a man, I can attest to the painful fact that it hits us men as much as women. I’m glad to see that this blog helps people to understand the benefits of aloe vera juice for those who suffer from Ulcerative Colitis. (Also great for IBS) – David

PS: Aloe is also GREAT for mouth sores (oral ulcers, etc.).
